Treat the stranger like a person

Say hi, be curious, and let the other person leave if they want to. Insults, slurs, mocking someone's looks or accent and pushing after a "no" all break the rules. Disagreeing is fine; being cruel is not.

Clothes on, and nothing illegal

Nobody undresses on camera, nobody asks the other person to, and nothing sexual goes in messages either. Anything unlawful for either of you, from selling drugs to violence, is out. Picture a busy café: if it would get you thrown out there, it gets you removed here.

Adults only

You have to be 18 or older to be on Chatiw. Matched with someone who looks or sounds younger? Leave and file a report straight away. Material that sexualizes minors is deleted, and we may pass it on to law enforcement.

No selling, spam or luring

• No advertising, promoting other services or collecting followers for another platform.
• No links to sites the other person did not ask for.
• No asking for money, gifts, coins or payment details, for any reason.
• No scripts, bots or automated messages.

Respect privacy

Do not record, screenshot or share someone else's chat without their clear permission. Do not post personal details about anyone, including people you met here.

What happens after a rule is broken

Reports are reviewed by a person. Depending on what happened, the result can be a warning, a temporary suspension or permanent removal. Nudity on camera, threats, hate, and anything involving minors lead to removal.

How to report

Use report inside the chat and pick the reason that fits. Add a block as well if you would rather never run into them again. For serious cases, also email [email protected] with the nickname and time. The safety tips page has more on what to do.
