The data Chatiw stores

We keep only what a feature depends on. Right now that is:

• Your account, including guest accounts: nickname, the sign-in method you linked (if any), language, settings and the birth year you gave.
• Profile details you choose to add, such as a photo or short bio, and the list of people you follow and who follow you.
• Messages sent through Chatiw, both during random matches and afterwards to people you follow.
• Match and call history: when each chat took place, which mode it used and about how long it ran.
• Coin and VIP purchases, plus the receipt our payment partner returns. Card numbers stay on the payment partner's side; Chatiw only ever sees a receipt.
• Every report involving you, in either direction, together with what the reviewer decided.
• Connection details (IP address, device model, browser version) and crash logs, which tell us when something breaks or when an account is up to no good.

Voice and video calls

Voice and video are streamed live between you and your match. Chatiw records the facts of a call (time, mode, duration) as listed above, plus whatever is attached to a report. We cannot control the other person's device, so assume anything you say or show could be saved by them.

Why we use it

• To match you with people and deliver your messages and calls.
• To keep your coins, VIP status and Reward Center claims accurate.
• To review reports, apply the community guidelines and remove accounts that break them.
• To find and fix bugs, and to understand in aggregate how features are used.
• To stay within the law, for instance by holding on to receipts for tax or answering a valid court order.

Who can see it

A match gets your nickname, country and whatever profile bits you filled in, plus anything you type, say or put on camera. Beyond that, we share data only with service providers that help run Chatiw, such as hosting, payments and support tools, and only what their task needs. Selling your personal information is something we do not do.

How long it stays

Your account record lives exactly as long as your account does. Messages and chat history stay while your account exists or until you delete them where the app allows it. Report records and purchase records can be kept longer where we need them for safety or legal reasons. Technical logs are kept for a limited time and then removed.

Your choices

• Edit or remove profile details from inside the app.
• Block people so they are not matched with you again.
• Request an export or a full wipe of your account: email [email protected], from the linked address if you logged in, or with your nickname and device if you never did.

Adults only

Only adults, 18 or over, may use Chatiw. If an account looks like it belongs to someone younger, we close it and erase what it held, keeping only what a safety investigation requires.

Cookies and local storage

Chatiw uses cookies and browser storage to keep your guest session, remember your settings and measure how the site is used. Clearing them logs you out of a guest session, which is why logging in matters once you have coins or follows to keep.

Edits to this page move the "last updated" date; anything major also gets a notice inside Chatiw. Send questions to [email protected].
